Through local donations from Haitian businesses and individuals, SAS was able to bring countless smiles to around 400 orphans who were in need with the Christmas Food and Toy Distribution project held in a private residence in Place Cazeau in December of 2006. All donations were consolidated to this particular distribution point making it easier on the numerous local orphanages.
Buses from various orphanages in the different communities such as the Bel Air area to Downtown to Delmas arrived with excited children ready to redeem their Christmas gifts.
SAS was able to fill numerous mouths with a complete Christmas meal, which comprised of chicken, rice and beans, salad and vegetables; deserts and drinks were also provided to satisfy the sweet tooth. The real excitement was built up when children eagerly stood in line waiting, anticipating their turn to choose a toy of their choice from the “toy buffet”. Gift bags with foods, toiletries and other necessities were also offered to each child.

Use your unique skills. Organize a collection, have a food drive, run marathon, throw fundraiser, have a bake sale, get your church and school involved, or put a link to your website. We encourage you to participate in however you feel will help us raise funds to help these wonderful children. SAS wants you to do it your way!
